Virginia Polymer Coalition April 2013 – Polymer Technology Training

Danville Community College’s Regional Center for Advanced Technology and Training (RCATT) is one of the few community colleges in Virginia and North Carolina that offer applied training in polymer technologies. Jerry Franklin and Kerry Dodds will illustrate RCATT’s training program and opportunities for industry to access extrusion and injection molding equipment for applied research and prototype production runs.

The Virginia Polymer Coalition brings together technology and manufacturing interests to create a network for innovation and new industry in Southern Virginia. The Coalition has established a regional polymer/plastic initiative to support the local cluster of related industry to help make it sustainable and competitive in a global economy. The VPC launched in August 2012 with nearly 40 participants from industry, economic development, research and education, and welcomes new members interested in supporting the polymer industry.
